For over 30 years, I have been producing captivating events all over the world, and I love it!
My first event was the premiere party for the film The English Patient (Academy Award Winner, Best Picture, 1996). The attendee's list was intimidating; the biggest names in Hollywood would be in there. No pressure! It was an elaborate, desert-themed party featuring a complex set design, musicians, dancers, multiple bars, and high-end catering by celebrity chefs. I'd been briefed not to fawn all over the movie stars but to focus on the task at hand. With that in mind, when Harrison Ford literally started making small talk with me, I asked him if I could freshen his drink. However, we did have a nice chat about filming in Turkey for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Something about the sparkle, excitement, and pressure grabbed me, and I was hooked. That was just the beginning of my journey. I went on to work on numerous film premieres, major award ceremonies, such as the Oscars and the Golden Globes, film festivals, and tech trade shows. I produced corporate events and conventions all over the world, including Japan and China, and worked on special events for the Beijing Olympics. As technology evolved, so did the tools and installations used for events. I was involved in the early days of virtual reality and augmented reality, creating activations for the E3 gaming show and San Diego Comic-Con.
In addition to over 30 years of tactical, hands-on event experience from vision to execution, I know how to craft a great story. As a screenwriter in Hollywood for many years, storytelling drives my approach. Every event is a narrative waiting to unfold, and bringing the story to life in creative ways is my passion.
There have been many chapters in my professional journey, and I am thrilled to embark on this new one with Magical Events. Although I may be based in the Boston area, I have a CLEAR pass and a lightweight laptop, and I'm ready to go anywhere I need to craft a magical experience.
